“I saw Dr. Phelan, in the Malta office, for a second opinion on treatment vs. surgery for a knee dislocation. I have a neuromuscular disease which somewhat complicated treatment. The office staff is very friendly and accommodating. Both my wife and I found Dr. Phelan to be very attentive and professional. After a thorough review of my medical history, and, a thorough physical exam, I was relieved that Dr. Phelan agreed with the current treatment I was receiving for my injury. He also thoroughly explained the different surgical procedures should I need surgery in the future. Dr. Phelan spent a lot of time with me to assure that I understood everything discussed and that all my questions had been answered. Both my wife and I have worked in the allied medical field and know how hectic things often get in the office setting. At no time did we feel hurried or rushed. I did decide that if I should need surgery in the future, that Dr. Phelan would be my surgeon. “I have been seeing Dr. Phelan for a number of years for sports injuries, stress fractures in my femur, both tibias along with rotator cuff tears. A year ago he performed Rotator cuff surgery and moving of the bicep tendon. He is an excellent surgeon doing a fantastic job.
I am now fully back to running and bootcamp at Cross-terrain. I recently ran Run the Ridge, a mud run/obstacles requiring upper body strength. I was able to finish with no problem with my shoulder. He is knowledgeable, personable and an awesome doctor!”
“Dr. Phelan is the best orthopaedic doctor. I broke my ankle and didn't want to have surgery, so he put me in a cast. He had me come back in every week for a cast change, so he could gently move my foot a little so I wouldn't have any problem with my achilles, and I am happy to say I don't have any problems with it. I had panic attacks every week from being in the cast, and I would call the office every Friday in a panic. They would always get Dr. Phelan for me to talk to, and if he was busy, he would always call me back and make sure I was okay. This is a sign of a truly caring and compassionate doctor. I tell everyone about him. He is the best!!!!!”
