My Comeback Story: MaryBeth M.

My journey is a long one. It was recommended over six years ago that I have a knee replacement. Shortly after that, my son was diagnosed with serious cancer. Of course everything was put on the back burner. I was just putting up with the pain. After my son’s illness was eradicated, I still did not take any action to proceed. Last November I was in Aruba with my husband and my knee locked up. It was awkward and painful to even attempt to walk. It was during this vacation that I contacted a friend and received the information for Dr. Harbin. I made the consultation appointment from Aruba. During my appointment, I found Dr. Harbin to be extremely personable and knowledgable. I was fully comfortable moving forward with the procedure. I was given a surgery date and several exercises to do prior to surgery. I was given a portal to track my progress and provide reminders every step of the way. I followed the directions very carefully which is the reason, I believe, that the entire process was so successful. There was a mandatory meeting for my husband and my care giver husband which was extremely helpful. A contact was provided for any questions along the way. I did use this source a couple times and information was provided in a timely manner. The Malta Surgery Center was extremely professional and I feel I received excellent care during my surgery. I felt well informed going home. I utilized an ice machine which I highly recommend. I started physical therapy at the same facility in Malta. The therapists were outstanding. I put in the work both at the therapy sessions and at home. The scar on my knee is barely visible and I have fantastic flexibility and can hardly wait to book another trip. I’m sure it will be much more enjoyable than the last one. I can’t say enough positive comments with respect to my knee replacement experience.
