My Comeback Story: Rob H.

Hiking Acadia

We were hiking Dorr mountain in Acadia nation park and I fell at the very top and ruptured my quad tendon. Due to the weather I couldn’t be air lifted out and had to hike out on one leg. 2 and 1/2 hours of agony. I was in the hospital in Bar Harbor and returned home the next day. I was put in contact with Dr. Flaherty through a friend (Danny) a nurse at the Bone and Joint Center and had surgery a few days later. Months in a full leg brace followed by many months of physical therapy and I am happy to say that at the young age of 70 I am back skiing, playing pickleball and most everything that I did before the injury. The care provided by Dr. Flaherty and the staff at the bone and joint center was great. I have other orthopedic injuries treated by others at the center and have had excellent care by all. Being an active senior takes care and attention to remain on the move and I am so happy to have the B&J Center as part of my health care team.
