My Comeback Story: THOMAS H.
Treated By
Triathlon
10 days after Ironman Mont Tremblant 2016. Dr Das was performing my 1st of 2 hip Labral tear surgeries. The 2nd was in 2018. I was told by 2 other surgeons in 2016 I would probably have to give up running. Dr Das mentioned. "As long as it heals properly I see no reason why you can't continue running." After having Labral tear surgery on my right and left hip I have completed 3 full Ironman triathlons. 1 in 2021 and 2 this past summer Ironman Lake Placid in July and Ironman Maryland in September. At Maryland I had my fastest run split. Since the surgeries I continue to run with the High School athletes I coach and train on a regular basis. I bike more than I run now but that happens when your in your mid/late 50's. Don't let surgery limit what you enjoy doing. Rehab properly and get out there. No matter what your favorite activity is.
