About
Fellowship-trained trauma surgeon Dr. Ernest Chisena specializes in total hip reconstruction and revision as well as trauma and general orthopaedic care. Dedicated to providing patients with exceptional care, he works with each of his patients, discussing their injuries and conditions as well as the available treatment options, and together they form individualized treatment plans that meet their needs and goals.
In Winston-Salem, North Carolina, Dr. Chisena attended Wake Forest University for his Bachelor of Arts degree, where he was also distinguished with the Speas Award for being a top student. Afterward, he moved to New York to attend medical school in Brooklyn at SUNY Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine. He completed his residency training in orthopaedic surgery at Albany Medical Center in Albany. After his residency, he elected to undergo additional training through an orthopaedic trauma fellowship at the University of Louisville and Norton Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.
