“I went to your office for a second opinion.  I had been treated for foot pain for several months with a local doctor. I tried cortisone shots, wearing a large boot, in a cast for 5 weeks and the doctor said the next step was surgery. I was told by The Bone & Joint Center that I did not need surgery (Doctor reviewed my MRI and did examination of my foot). He gave me a small tie up brace to wear, took anti-inflammatory medicine, did ice baths for my foot, and exercises. It has been about 2 months and I am pain free. I am so thankful for this office for preventing me from getting an unnecessary surgery and for my foot feeling better than it has in almost a year.”

I am avid runner and practice yoga daily and my knee pain was beginning to making what I love to do very painful. The answer I did expect was to slow down and maybe find another form of exercise. And I was so grateful for what I got....... options. And he knew what I wanted to do the most and encouraged me to continue that and a possible solution. And I was lucky the treatment worked for me. It did take special insurance approval and the office manager was quick and efficient. We got approval and had the treatment with days. I couldn't ask for a better doctor and office staff. And for the record I am VERY hard to please.”

“I was happy to be referred to Dr. Alley, since he had treated a recurring knee problem in the past and recommended that I see a second orthopaedist to address the larger problem. My consultations with Dr. Alley at this point in time were a model of how medicine should be practiced. He asked for the history of my current problem, listened and asked questions, reviewed my previous x-rays with me, and pointed out what he could see. He physically examined and evaluated my shoulder's functioning, and then explained why he thought an MRI was needed to rule out a soft tissue problem. When I returned for the results, he reviewed the MRI imaging with me, showed me an exercise that might help for now, and outlined additional treatment options that I could choose in the future. In all of my interactions with Dr. Alley over the past several years, I've found him to be pleasant, courteous, thorough, and able to communicate clearly without using a lot of technical jargon.”

“Dr. Flaherty operated on my hip. I had been experiencing pain for many years, but it was alleviated by cortisone injections. After several years, the injections stopped helping the pain. I would highly recommend The Bone & Joint Center, along with Dr. Flaherty. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Flaherty. Both my husband and I were impressed by how much time he spent explaining things prior to and after the surgery. It's very rare these days to have a doctor actually listen and answer questions. I have never felt rushed during my appointments and he was very patient when I came in for my second post-op appointment with a series of questions. His assistant, Erin, was also very helpful and very kind.”
